Goal: prepare conversations respectfully, without turning an AI into a judge of other people’s intentions.
A meeting that went badly
Two colleagues disagree about allocating tasks. One emphasizes speed, the other review. Asking the AI “Who is right?” after hearing only one side invites unwarranted certainty. Instead, distinguish an observable fact (“the report required two corrections”) from an interpretation (“my colleague does not care”). Neither the model nor the storyteller knows another person’s private intentions.
Four stages
Define: what happened, what can be verified, and what each participant reportedly wants. Examine: whether the division of work undermines the shared aim. Reformulate: propose a brief review or a different allocation, if mutually acceptable. Verify: discuss directly, confirm accounts and consider a bounded trial.

Laboratory
Give an AI a fictional interpersonal dispute from one perspective. Have it present two additional interpretations compatible with the available facts. Add a new fact that challenges its first explanation. See whether it updates its account, and rewrite three accusatory statements as questions. Do not upload sensitive details of third parties.
Limit: if harassment, coercion or safety threats are involved, relevant human protection and reporting processes take precedence over a conversational exercise.
